Lord Mayor of Newcastle Cr John Tate has announced Clare Hodgins winner of the Earth Hour poster design competition. The competition was open to students enrolled in the Diploma of Graphic Design and Communication at Hunter TAFE.Twenty students were involved in the competition and they were on hand to talk about their designs based on the "Step it Up" theme of Earth Hour 2009.
All of the designs will be on display at the Newcastle City Council event shop front, 401 Hunter Street, Newcastle.
The winning design will be used for promotions throughout the Hunter and a special edition T-shirt with the design will be printed.
The top three designs were by
- 1st - Clare Hodgins (pictured right)
- 2nd - Ellen Holland
- 3rd - Ashleigh Wagner
